The Mapping Festival take place next week in Geneva, Switzerland ( May 2 to 12 2013). Presenting a rich program with a lot of performances, installations, architectural mapping as well as workshops and conferences. Artists like Sougwen Chung, Onionlab, Trajectoires AV, AtomTM, Nonotak… propose installations and experimentations in differents places of the city. More info here.

After Helvetica ( a documentary film about typography, graphic design and global visual culture) and Objectified ( about our complex relationship with manufactured objects and, by extension, the people who design them), Gary Hustwit announce now Urbanized a third feature-length film. The documentary is currently in production and will premiere in 2011.
The city district Amsterdam Osdorp recently merged with Slotervaart and Geuzenveld-Slotermeer and was given the name Amsterdam Nieuw-West. This change also meant the end of 20 years of restructuring urbanized areas. To celebrate everything achieved, a book was published. ‘The Metamorphosis of Osdorp’ gives an overview of the architectural highlights.
